Polarity
POLARITY according to the KYBALION: the Hermetic philosophy of ancient Egypt and Greece
“Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has a pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
This song has two verses separated by an instrumental middle. The first verse gives examples of polarity at the global scale. The second and “other” verse is its polar opposite. It is personal. And, it is a tribute to that person who was once your mate; the person with whom you once planned and expected would be with you forever but, at some point, you recognized it was not to be so and your ways parted with sadness and perhaps bitterness. Still, years later, that person means something to you.
