When I Was Young

I have no idea why the face but, the year was probably 1970-ish Still almost young.

Is this song found on the “Who IS this guy?” Album. Why… YES!

And I sing/play it NON-STOP on Youtube in case you go there to listen to it.

At some time or another (s), I have beat myself up over any and every one of these points when I was young.

When I Was Young

Am  E  Am  F  Dm G C Am Dm  E7

When I was a young,
Am                                           E
There were many days when I wasted time
Am                                           F
“I’ll do it tomorrow. Everything is fine”
Dm                   G
I stood still when I should have walked
C                      Am                   Dm       E7
I was quiet when I should have talked

I strolled when I should have run
I lost when I could have won
I spent when I could have earned
I daydreamed instead of learned

C                      G
Never waste a day
Dm                   Am
Fall in love many, many times.
C                      F
Never let her get away
Dm                               E7
You’re racing time to the finish line

Instrumental

I would leave when I should have stayed
Always worked when I should have played
Time will leave you far behind.
Time is short for the blind

When you are Young

Never waste a day
Fall in love many, many times.
Never let her get away
Race time to the finish line

While you are Young

Do you know who you really are?
A killer or a radio star?
You are what you do today
Don’t let fear get in the way

I had no idea, not a clue
No one said, it’s up to you
Love not chased is another love lost
I didn’t know the cost

When I was young
