Good MOrning Sunshine
A happy song designed to wake up your friend gently and eventually to have him / her wide awake and happy to be so. The song is also an excuse to play these rocky chords the way I do. Simple E, A, E, A, F#m, B, E verses. I wanted the chorus to be different so I used the continuous progression of falling chords, each a natural after the prior until it needed resolving on the B7 to the E. It worked nicely. The funny part is that the opening clicking tick-tock sound and the chirping birds is me making noises into a long vacuum cleaner hose with its other end at the microphone. This IS fun! I use the song to open the "12 infinities" album and introduce me to you.
The song's photo is my son, Jamie who is not a morning person. Here, he had just sat down beside me at about 10 AM one beautiful morning and I doubt he could see me yet or care if I spoke.

I feel that soft morning air

I want a minute here instead
Before we go out today

Lately, have I shown you

A moment we will never miss.

We give the day a little time.
Tomorrow, we do it all again.
